USA 2013 - last night

We spent the last days of this vacation in Ullas home decorating for Christmas and spent all remaining money shopping. It is the first Sunday in advent - in Sweden we think this is a bit early for the Christmas tree but here it is customary to start all Christmas decoration after Thanksgiving.
Tomorrow morning we start our long flight back home.

We have had a great time! Now we have to start planning for our next trip! ....

.... The wine is gone and the cheese is gone, time to go to bed ....

For dinner Tonight we had homemade piza -Tom rolled the dough and we picked the toppings.

We had a great dinner at the neighbourghs house, the puertocicans that had recommended us the stay in Dorado. They were lovely people and we had a great time, lots of laughing and talking about our memories and they told us everything about Puerto Rico.

Monday morning, sunny but cold. Tom is making breakfast and then he will take us out for a hike.

Last day in Florida -saturday

Yesterday evening went to the restaurant, there was live music and we enjoyed a sallad split three ways.
Saturday we got another day of nice weather, warm and sunny. We started in Blue Springs, this is My favorite place in Florida! We saw seven Manatees, one baby. We took the boat tour and saw alligators, anhingas, a bald eagle, a redshoalded hawk, grey, white, smal, big egrets, and other birds.
Then we went on a couple of hours to High Springs and checked in at an oldfashioned motel. Went out for dinner and are now ready to go to sleep.

Today we had sunshine again :)
We're now on our way north, 4 hours drive today and the highlight of the day was lunch at McDonalds. We are now installed in this hotel from 1876 and about ready to have dinner in the restaurant for a change.
(I also added some Pictures to the yesterdays blog.)

Back in Florida - Pompano Beach

Torsdag 21 nov
Packning - After a lot of puzzling and weighing suitcases back and forth we finally managed to get all our suitcases to weigh in under 40 lbs (39,7 and 39,9).
The car we rented from Allied which we could recommend. Nice people and free Shuttlebus to the AirPort.
There we had the best meal in Puerto Rico! Chicken quesadilla and white wine at Landshark Bar.
We boarded the airplane and left on time. We are flying we with Spirit which we Will never do again. When we came to Ft Lauderdale the weather was bad so we were not allowed to land. While other aircrafts kept on cirkling, waiting for permit to land we went to West Palm Beach because we did not have enough fuel to do more than a couple of circles. The people on board are very undisciplined and Running back and forth While the stewards try to keep them in their seats.
For now we're sitting and waiting for fuel. Meantime we were offered a small bottle of water.
Three hours late we landed in Ft Lauderdale. Luckily we found our car at the long time parking and between squalls of rain we managed to repack everything - we have three big suitcases, three normal size handluggage, and a plethora of bags and undefined parcels.
We were hungry, stopped by CVS hoping to find something to eat but no. The clerk told us where to find a grocery store open late so the dinner consisted of lots of wine, turkey, salami and brie and some italian bruschettis.
The motel, Sea Cove Motel, is very old but lovely. We have to rooms with kitchen. And right on the beach. It is passed 1 o'clock so let's sign off.
Friday we head on north.

Last day in Puerto Rico

Wednesday
Today was an exciting day!
We went to explore the Rio Camuy Cave. The third largest cave in the world - we think, we don't understand everything they tell us.
A huge sinkhole is the entrance to the cave. It's ancient and there is evidence tha the tania indians were exploring it centuries ago.
There was a tram taking us down on serpentine paths along the walls of the sinkhole.
After that we walked through the cave and saw stalactites and stalagmites. We also watched the bats and a scorpionspider.
After that we went to a nearby restaurant and After long waiting we got some lousy food. Puerto Rico is a great Island - bring your own food though!
On the way back we took the scenic road along the coast. We stopped for a walk on the beach and found a tiny little hermit crab - that I managed to piss off :) you se him below.
Tomorrow we're leaving back to Florida. The weather have been great all the time but now a coldfront is threatening us.
