today we went to the national parc Krka. Overwhelming!
On the way we made a stop at the little ancient town Trogir, again protected by Unesco. Here we also listened to some a capella singers. The a capella singing here is also protected by Unesco! It started when young boys were to serenade their sweethearts and were to shy to sing alone so a small group would gather and sing together and the acoustics in the narrow allys were terrific.
From there we went to Krka. As we said this place was overwhelming! It's a river that makes all kinds of waterfalls running every which way. A wooden trail made it possible to walk through this water landscape. A hydroelectric powerplant opened here second in the world only two days after the powerplant i the Niagra falls. But this river is so clean that it's used as the norm for classifying water purity in rivers. So this one has the value 100%.
Croatia has exceeded all our expectations. The country is so beautiful, the history in many ways is so tortured, they have been under someone elses regim except from around 900-1300 and from 1995.
But they seem fearsly patriotic but as we are told over and over they don't trust their governement.
High unemployment, lacking social services. But they are working on it and look forward.
Pictures will be uploaded to Facebook.
